KRW - Evergreen MTB Fest

The Evergreen MTB Festival is always a favorite stop on the KRW tour.

It’s such a fun environment with a true festival atmosphere.

The trails are amazing and they are literally all around you as the festival takes place in the middle of the Duthie Hill MTB Park.

The weather was a little bit interesting this year with intermittent rain showers but the sun always came back to brighten everyone’s spirits and dry out the puddles.

Our very own Jeff Kendall-Weed stopped by to say hi and give some high fives and words of inspiration to the younger generation of shredders. It’s always good to see Jeff!

We had a chance to help save a younger rider from what could have been a more serious injury. He had decided to upgrade his Maya demo helmet to an Avatar Full Face helmet for more aggressive riding as his confidence was building throughout the day. The next time I saw him, he was limping back to the Kali tent with his helmet in hands. I checked it out for damage, gave him a replacement visor, and stoked him out with the helmet as I felt like he had earned it that day. The entire family came back the next day and presented me with a hand made card thanking me for helping him out. That is what it’s all about!

The festival was full of vendors with huge fleets of Demo Bikes, Food Trucks, a Beer Garden, and the crowd favorite Kids Pumptrack.

If you live in the greater Seattle Area, do yourself a favor and check out this event next year. It’s also a fundraiser for the Evergreen MTB Alliance so you can feel good about supporting the group that supports your trails.
